The Challenge :
In 2002,The adidas Group were not market
leaders in the UK and needed to re-position
themselves to be so.The organisation had
strong people, and had to find ways to maximise
their potential. People would be required to
behave differently, be creative and think in a like
minded way. The adidas Group wanted to
create a culture where all of their employees
were aligned and well equipped for the
challenges ahead.
The Solution :
An initial three-tier development strategy was
designed for ‘Executives, those with
‘Managerial’ responsibilities and those at
‘Professional’ entry level to the organisation
The Results :
A development culture was created and
embedded within the organisation. There is an
expectation that people will be developed
within the adidas Group as they recognise that
people are the key to future success of the
In 2007/08, from the 34 employees who
attended ‘Tomorrows People’, the programme
designed for entry level Professionals, to date
19 have been promoted within the organisation.
